Dylan Bednarz is currently studying at the New Jersey Institute of
Technology with the aim of eventually becoming a Pharmaceutical Engineer
for a major company. During this time, he has enjoyed the opportunity
to work on a number of research projects and has noted that those who
are successful in his chosen field tend to share a number of common personality traits.
Resourcefulness
The research you
conduct as a Pharmaceutical Engineer will not always be done under the
most ideal of conditions. You may not have the budget that you want, or
some of the equipment that you use may not be as current as you would
like. As such, you need to be resourceful and make the most of the tools
at your disposal to ensure that your research produces effective
results.
Cooperative
It is rare for a Pharmaceutical
Engineer to be working entirely on their own. It is more likely that you
will be working in a lab with a number of other engineers, all of whom
are focused on the same goal. This means that you must be capable of
working within a team environment and that you communicate effectively
so that your efforts don’t overlap with other team members, leading to
wasted time.
Inquisitive
Dylan Bednarz has found that
the Pharmaceutical Engineers that he has met have all possessed
inquisitive minds. They are fascinated by the work that they do and are
constantly curious about how the effects of various chemicals and how
they can be used to create new pharmaceuticals.
