Dylan Bednarz - Traits A Manager Must Possess

Dylan Bednarz is currently a Shift Supervisor at Panera Bread, which means he is responsible for managing a team of more than sixty people in addition to creating reports relating to the performance of his café. In order to work effectively in the role, or any other management position, a person must possess all of these traits.

Listening Skills

While some mistakenly believe that the role of a manger revolves solely around being able to give orders to team members, good managers recognize that they need to be available to listen to issues raised by their team members. By listening to what your team members have to say, you will get a better understanding of their role in the company and how decisions you make may affect their work.

Be Transparent

If your team members believe that you have a reputation for dishonesty, they are going to be far less likely to put their full effort into working for you. A good manager will be completely transparent in everything that they do, explaining their reasoning behind making any important decisions in addition to being accountable should things happen to go wrong.

Mentoring Skills

As a manager you will be expected to take new employees under your wing so that you can show them the ropes, in addition to working on the personal development of your other staff members. As such, Dylan Bednarz believes that you need to be able to use your own experiences to teach others, allowing you to offer advice when it is needed to ensure higher levels of productivity.
