Dylan Bednarzon the Positive Effects of Playing Sports in School

During his elementary school and high school studies, Dylan Bednarz has participated in just about any available sports, including basketball, track, and baseball. Playing sports in school has undeniable benefits, as various studies have shown.

This one is obvious. Hundreds of studies have proven that on average, people who grow up playing sports tend to become healthier adults. It has something to do with learning to enjoy being active, as opposed to becoming sedentary, and staying that way for prolonged periods of time.

Social Skills

Sports usually give confidence to those who practice them. The everyday interaction – especially if it is a team sport – creates opportunities where children will improve their social skills, even if they don’t realize it. They learn to talk to others in a more effortless way, their words flowing with the conversation. A shared passion such as a sport can create camaraderie and team spirit, both of which are excellent for developing good social skills.

Lower Chances of Getting Into Trouble

Playing sports reduces the risk of bumping into negative influences. It does not completely eliminate them – on occasion those negative influences will be in the locker room – but when it comes to being in an environment that very likely eliminates these elements, sports are as good a bet as any.

Dylan Bednarz grew up playing sports, running track and dribbling on the basketball court. While he doesn’t really play these sports on a frequent basis anymore, he still remembers how important they were from a social standpoint.
